We're here :)

Well, we all made it :) Our internet service has been spotty at best so this has been the only opportunuity we've had to update. Apparently the service in Rome will be worse :( So hopefully we'll be able to check in sometime, but it's not looking like we'll be keeping everyone as up to date as we had hoped.



Our arrival day was long to say the least. Still tired from the flight we took a bus to our hotel, dropped off our luggage and headed out into the city. We stopped by a brassiere for some pastries and sandwiches and made out way to the Effiel Tower for a picnic. It was quite a walk, but the food was good and we got to take some pictures. Unfortunatley, the lines for the Tower were outrageously long and we decided to skip that, but hoped we would be able to make it back another day.



After the Tower we split up to look at some Parisian sights, with most of the group choosing to take a boat tour on the Seine. We met back up at the hotel and prepared for dinner with the larger group that we are associated with. The meal was salad avec jambon et frommage (that's salad with ham and cheese...see how well I've picked up the language?), rice with beef and of course, chocolate moouse for dessert (the favorite part for all). We were all exhausted from our day and quiickly hit the hay afterwards.



Today we got up bright and early for our breakfast followed by our bus tour of Paris. For 2 hours we drove around, saw the sights, took lots of pictures and heard about the history of Paris. We ended at Notre Dame and then explored the Latin Quarter. We all ate lunch together at a creperie and had a fabuolous time. We then strolled, and shopped, our way to the Louvre where Scott showed us the sights, including the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory. Then it was a rather eventful Metro ride back to the hotel! We had to change trains twice and ended up seperated at one point, but we all made it back with an adventure to tell!



Dinner tonight was another salad (this time with bleu cheese), rice with chicken and a pear tart for dessert. We are really hoping that this is the end of our rice phase on this trip! ;) The group is now about to go see the Tower light up at night here shortly. Hopefully we will all get the much needed sleep we need as well!



Tomorrow we see Versailles in the morning, followed by some free time in the afternoon. We'll end our time in Paris by getting on a night train to Rome in the evening. I hope we'll be able to update some more on this trip, but don't get concerned if that's not possible. We'll just fill you all in a bit late :)
